Chevrolet Beretta Serpentine belt Problem

When I turn on my heater or the air conditioner in my car my engine starts smoking on one of the pullys that my serpentine belt wraps around, can you tell me what is wrong with my car and how to fix it?

Check that the compressor is not seized, if you have a serpentine belt with no separate A/C belt, i feel it will be the compressor at fault as with the comp off, the clutch on the front of the compressor is turning only.
