Volkswagen Van Axle Problem
To replace the axel boots do the wheel hubs need to be removed
if yes how do you remove these hubs so axel can be pulled out
if yes how do you remove these hubs so axel can be pulled out

to replace axles, remove the 3 bolts on the lower ball joint. that will allow enough swing to release the axle nose.

Vanagon axles come straight out... just remove the 6 bolts per CV joint and the axle will fall / slide out.
No ball joints.

Unless you are talking about Syncro Front Suspension... more involved then.
