FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS

I HAVE A 1989 FIREBIRD V8 TBI FUEL SYSTEM THAT WILL NOT GET ANY PRESSURE TO THE CARB. I PUT A NEW FUEL PUMP ON AND CAR RAN FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. NOW IT SEEMS LIKE SAME PROBLEM. I HEAR PUMP RUNNING AND IT PUMPS FUEL BUT NOT WITH ANY PRESSURE. CAR WILL NOT START. PRESSURE BUILDS IN TANK WHEN YOU TAKE CAP OFF. ANY THOUGHTS? BOB

And also check the actual fuel pressure if its within specs-Sometimes you can hear fuel pump but no fuel pressure been there-let me know-
