1989 ford festiva, Mazda 4cyl, electrical issue

The car runs perfect, shifts perfect, runs perfect, and will start right up in freezing cold weather with no problem, but every once in a while the car will cut out and wont start. The coil then quits getting power. There is a new ignition in the dash and I've narrowed the problem to there. I went over some bumps and it did it again. Just some problem on the ignition and im no mechanic.

Hi if bumps will cause this . you should be able to wiggle the harness under the dash and under the hood especially all connector plugs. while idleing you should be able to stall it and then find the prob in the harness that you last moved. time consuming but very effective
