Brakes light

I have a 1989 ford f-250 diesel and the brakes light stop workin.I had change the relay that goes on the brake pedal. One of the wire is hot and the other one not. When I mash the brakes pedal both wires should be hot but only one stay hot. What do u think I should do.

Is brake switch on pedal adjusted so it closes when pedal depressed ie. Switch does not contact pedal when depressed

Either the switch isn't adjusted correctly or faulty switch, possible issue with wiring connector. Do the wiring colors below match what you have? You could use fused jumper wire, run voltage to bottom wire, see if brake lites work?

From the look of the relay thats on it u cant adjust it.

We triied two more switch off of the same kind of truck that we know that the brake light was workin and it do the samething everytime

Docfixit was here before me, I didn't see his post. You could use a jumper and bypass the switch, to see if brake lites will work? I don't know what else to tell you?
