Ford F-150 Battery Problem

1989 for f 150 strait six Head lights and tail lights flicker, my temp gauge and battery gauge jump all the way up then truck stalls out started it again after my gauges went back to normal then went to put it in gear heard some clicking by my feet and died again now it wont start at all

That is a tough one. To start, I think we need to check battery connections and ground. Make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight and make sure the ground wire that goes from the battery to the engine block is clean and tight. Let me know what you find.

could it be the clutch safety switch?

The safety switch wouldn't cause the lights to flicker.
