Ford Bronco Air pump Problem

I had a plugged cat so I got rid of it, took the air tube off and plugged the crossover tube. All I've got for an exhaust system is a o2 at the cross pipe (stock placement) and 2 cherry bombs. It ran fine and then all of a sudden it started running like it was fireing on only 4 cyls. Taking all the air pump stuff off, wpould that cause the computer to start reading strange signals and respond in like manner?

no, the issue you have is basic engine.

start with basics, compression spark and fuel pressure.

I've got 41psi fuel after the in rail fuel pump, I was told by a so called Ford Mech. that it was the Air pump system, I havent checked it yet but I believe it is the timing gear on the dist. or the timing gear itself. Been real busy but well let you know thanks. It's always something simple.
