1989 Dodge Dynasty, Transmission problem, 79,524 miles

The automatic transmission works fine sometimes, and then sometimes the transmission won't shift into drive. We had the transmission flushed but the problem still persists. Any ideas?

It help to replace the vehicle speed sensors. The transmission is electrical and once the vehicle is heated up to operating with the transmission, one of the sensors can stop working.
