1989 Chevy Corsica will not stay running

1989 Chevy Corsica mileage: 78,000. What would cause the engine to crank and fire? It will then run for a couple of seconds then quit. I suspected the fuel pump so I put the pressure gauge on it and it was at the proper pressure at KOEO and did not fall below the minimum KEOR pressure before it quits. Any ideas would help.
