My brother has a 1989 celebrity that just died out of nowhere. I started playing with it and discovered that it will start and run until the electric fan would normally kick on. Then it dies. It will restart right away and run for another 30 seconds. Again for 10 seconds then will not restart at all. When the car sits and cools down completely, it will start right away and run for about 5-6 minutes (until the fan would kick on) then dies. No sputtering, just as if the key were turned off. My tester says the fan is not getting power. The temp sensor has power and there is power to the coolant fan fuse. The only thing that makes sense is that when the fan is trying to kick on, its shorting out the ignition system. The entire time i was running the car, the fan never moved. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

IS the vehicle overheating? Have you checked the ignition module?

I forgot to ask, when it doesn't restart, did you check for spark and fuel to the engine.

So it has both spark and fuel when it doesn't start. Then the injector must not be getting power.
