What could it be? My hooter isn't working either. What can I do to fix it myself. I was told I need a steering wheel column. My gears was locked because of the linkages that moved out of place. Someone fixed it, but said I need another part to make it work better in order for the linkages to stay together. I need to buy that part, but don't know what' it's called.

Boy, you'd have better luck telling me why I'm in pain.

There's dozens of things that can leak oil. You have to start by cleaning the engine with a degreaser, then when it continues leaking, look for the highest point you find oil that is running down. Often the oil sprays around from the wind when you're driving so don't wait too long to search for the leak.

Another approach is to add a bottle of dye, then search with a black light. The dye will show up as a bright yellow stain that you follow back to the source. If the leak is bad enough, you can use a "smoke machine" to put a white non-toxic smoke at 2 psi into the oil dipstick tube, then watch where it sneaks out.

Don't have any idea what part you're talking about for the linkage. You might try searching for the parts on rockauto. Com. They show pictures of most parts.

We rarely replace an entire steering column. They can be repaired on most cars. The alternative is to find one in a salvage yard, but if your problem is a common one, the used column might have the same problem.
