WATER PUMP
Removal
1. Remove right cover under engine. Drain coolant from radiator and engine. Remove oil dipstick. Remove accessory drive belt. Remove
intake manifold stay and ground strap. Disconnect coolant hose from carburetor.
2. Remove dipstick tube mounting bolt and pull out dipstick tube. Remove coolant hose from intake manifold. Remove water pump pulley. Remove bolt retaining coolant hose to side of cylinder block. Remove bolt, nuts and water pump assembly.
Installation
Apply seal packing to water pump. See Fig. 20 . Install new "O" ring to inlet pipe. Apply a water and soap solution to "O" ring. Insert inlet pipe in water pump. Install water pump and tighten to specifications. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
