i have a rebuilt engine inside a 1988 Toyota . I believe it to be a 22RE , it is fuel injected . the Vehicle starts up fine, it has been timed at 5 degrees. it idles fine, it doesn't backfire..while idling it seems great... the thing is while driving , it has absolutely no to none power ( in order to go up a steep hill, I have to put it in 4 wheel drive ) Here is the question : When I manually rev. the throttle, what would cause the timing to immediately retard and then advance...where should i look, what could be the culprit ? If you are able to help me fix this problem, I give you my word , I will donate something..might now be a lot, but i will donate something..
