1988 Subaru GL Repair Question

Subaru GL Engine Problem
My 1.8 carb keeps dying with quick off-idle acceleration, it acts like a bad accelerator pump, but I dont know how these carbs work.

There is an accelerating pump that provides additional fule under sudden throttle opening and if the pump is not working, the engine would hesitate or stall.
You would need to have the carb rebuilt.
