"Crank" and "turn over" are the same thing. It has nothing to do with the ignition switch.

"now its not startin at all the key cranks and it won't turn over"

Does it crank or doesn't it? What happens to the brightness of the head lights or dome light when you try to crank the engine? Have you checked the battery voltage? If it is not 12.6 volts, charge it at a slow rate for an hour, then see where it is.
