Oldsmobile Ciera Transmission Problem

My car wont shift into third gear. I am going to try to replace the transmission control solenoid and transmission filter and gasket before spending big bucks to fix the transmission can you help me find this part?

Some older gm vehicles have a vacuum modulator on the transaxle. If the modulator is faulty, it won't shift. Because of the vacuum it can suck tranny fluid into the throttle-body and it may run down into the air filter, if the modulator diaphram is ruptured. I haven't looked, yet, to see if your transaxle has a vacuum modulator?

Hi, I think I made a mistake on my answer, yesterday. I can't remember what I was drinking? Sorry about that, will try to do better.
