WON'T START; NO FUEL MAKING IT TO FUEL RAIL.

1988 Honda Accord • 300,000 miles

88 Honda Accord Lxi; won't start. Checked voltage on connector main relay - all good. Checked all fuses and replaced relay anyway. Relay click and engine light comes on in #2 key position. I don't hear a hum from the fuel pump. What do you suggest?

Test the fuel pump. It could be bad.

I would check to see if you have injector pulse using as noid light. Main relays are a common failure on that car.

The fuel pump connector has three leads, black, green, and yellow. The black being ground; there is 12v on green and 0 on yellow with key switch in #2 position. All information on web says there should only be two leads; black and yellow and the yellow should be 12v. That is not what I find on this car. What say you?

There should be 4 wires at the connector,
Yellow/White (12 V ) for fuel gauge.
Green/Red (12 V ) for fuel low warning indicator.
Black for ground circuit.
Yellow for fuel pump operations. 12 V would only be present for 2 seconds when ignition is turned on or while cranking.
