wont start

when i turn the key on my 1988 ford f 350 the gauges wont move and my fuel pump wont kick on it will roll over and act like it wants to start but it dont

check your fuel pressure gas or diesel?

30-45 psi also check your fuelpump relay /cutoff, it may be engaged.

then what would cause my gauges not to work i checked all the fuses and it started once about 2 weeks ago then i shut it off and it hasnt started since

check by your starter relay for fusible links. they are connected to usuall an orange black wire an dyellow i think it is. they are smaller wires than the other. they have these at auto parts stores if it's burnt out.if you put a test light on the other side and it's dim or not working then they are bad.

should be real close to the battery, kind of round with two large posles on it.

My 1986 6.9 does the same thing.started and ran just fine until yesterday.no headlights,radio,gauges,but the motor turns.Will not start though,what worked for you topaz?

Fixxed mine.down inside a wire sleeve or protector was what looked like an in-line fuse.It had metal inside instead of a fuse.it had loosened up,so I tightened and electrical taped it.start at the battery and traced all wires.Found on the other side of all relays
