Dodge Ram Starter Problem
When i turn the key to start my pickup it starts fine but as soon as i release the key to the run pos. it dies . if i hold the key in start pos. and put tranny in gear (so neutral cutoff switch cuts power to the starter) it will continue to run,and drive as normal untill i release the key from start to run. i suspected the ignition so i bypassed it (I.E. hotwired the rig) and the same thing, hot wire to coil hot to starter starts no problem, untill i remove hot to starter then dies?????

check your ballast resistor on firewall they are normally the cause of this. it is a white retangular ceramic piec with one bolt in it.
