Chevrolet Truck Ignition switch Problem
Where does the ignition coil get it juice from? I have the ignition switch out of the vehicle and the coil is still hot on the red wire?

What do you have out, the ignition switch or lock cylinder? I looked at c1500 pickup. The pink wire at the coil goes hot with the key on. With the connector loose from ignition switch, check the pink wire pin 11 for voltage. Could have faulty connector or the wiring circuit is shorted to voltage, somewhere along the circuit.
