1988 BMW 535i Repair Question

535i E34 hot air only from vents
535i E34 (88) only hot air comes through into car vents, both driver and passenger. Both passenger and driver temp control selectors do not change this, when selected to çold'. Still hot air. Thanks team!

The system has the ability to be scanned with the proprietary BMW scanning tool called a GT-1. That would be the first thing I would need to have before I could say what is wrong.
