Low beams not working but my highbeams are

My low beams in my 1987 plymouth Reliant are not working, but my highbeams are. I`m not quite sure how to fix the problem or what to do. I don`t want to take it to a shop for them to charge me just to tell me what is wrong. I just cant simply afford that. Any ideas will help. Thank you.

check another headliht bulb first as it may be burned out. then disconnec th teh dimmer switch and if headlighs come on on low beam that may be your problem. you could always check for a bad wire as well. especially fi the car has been wrecked in front
