1987 Mercedes Benz 190e Repair Question

Mercedes Benz 190e Gas Problem
Just did head gasket& seems like timming chain is to tight is there adjustment on spring tension, it seems when I put cap over plunger it only seats o ring if I tighten all the way to block,is there no adjustment or am I missing something? Or is this ok

My 1987 190e timming chain problem solved , plunger goes in after housing is tightened from the back then spring & cap & it self adjusted , do not push plunger in front side, that was my problem, runs like a champ spurts
