Hello, my friend and I installed a new distributor pick up coil, new rotor new cap. I can start the car and upon acceleration in park it increases rpms roughly and the engine shakes once I hit around 1500 rpms it clears out and increases good and smooth thru 3000rpms I let off the throttle and it idles @ 600 to 700 rpms give it gas again and same thing runs rough shakes till about 1500 rpms then clears out. I checked the wires and they are in the correct order. Thank you

As you replaced th pickup coil the air gap must be between.008-.014" check that first. Therecheck your timing an dvacuum advance to make sure that is working correctly it should idle at 800 rpm. Timing should be set at 8 degrees btccheck the vacuum advance for worn pins or the advance itself worn at the pin. Then check the pickup coil plate for wear -try to move sideways. If it's electrical that should take care of it. Also while at it claean the throttle plate iwth choke cleaner on both sides and the iac hole.
