Hello, and thank u for your time in advance. Okay, so the issue I am having is with the coolant temp. Sensor or ECT. I checked on the manifold near the thermostat housing where the repair manual says it should be located and there appears to be 2 vacuum switches; but, no coolant temp. Sensor. Also, the plug wire for an coolant temp. Sensor seems to be missing. I have checked every connector on the manifold and I can not find the coolant temp. Sensor or a plug-in connection for one. My question is 2 parts: 1. Do I really need this part 2. How do I resolve this issue if I do need it?

Ok under the throttle body is a pipe with a hose or two and the sensor is on that. It just to left of the thermostat ontop of the engine under the throttle body (as you are looking at the engine). What is the problem you are having to think you need to replace it?
