My 1987 Ford Econoline Camper Van just died while driving. no notice at all. After about 15 minutes, it restarted and drove home fine. Now I am scared to take it out again. It had been driving fine before hand and had recently passed smog testing with no problems. It is an 8 cyl, 5 liter, gas, 125,000 miles, AT, 2 wd. When I tried to restart it after it died, it would turn over but not start. Later in day, back at home, I tried again and it wouldn't even start for about 5 min, then all of a sudden, it did. Help!

COULD BE A NUMBER OF THINGS

MY 1ST THOUGHT IS THE IGNITION MODULE

CALL AROUND AND ASK WHAT PARTS STORE CAN TEST IT

THEN HAVE THEM TEST IT OVER AND OVER AT LEAST 5 TIMES (OR MORE) IF IT FAILS---REPLACE IT

BEFORE YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR---TEST THE NEW ONE THE SAME WAY....I DON'T THINK I NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY....15 YEARS LATER, STILL P.ISSES ME OFF!

WHILE IT AIN'T CRANKIN' UP (BUSTIN' OFF) CHECK FOR SPARK AND MAYBE SHOOT A LITTLE FUEL IN THE THROTTLE BODY........OBJECTIVE: LACKS SPARK OR FUEL??????

YOUR TURN
