I recently bought a 1987 Camaro, Iroc-Z28 with a 305, carb. I replaced the fuel filter, the old one had the bottom off so the fuel went straight through. Now it acts like the new filter is clogged. The filter looks fine. My thought is that the fuel pump may be worn so it doesn't have enough pressure. Is there a way that I can check it? It is one that mounts to the engine block.

You can do an in line fuel pressure test, you need to attach a pressure gauge with a "T" piece and read off the fuel pressure.
