1987 Cadillac Deville Repair Question

1987 cadillac deville - next to battery, there's an air pump (with a charcoal filter) with a small plastic tube going through firewall that doesn't appear to work. what system does this support? I cant find it in service manual or on any electrical/syste

Electric air pump doesn't seem to be working.

check fuse and relay for this, but you may have a bad pump.

what is the name of the pump, and what system is it? why does air tube go through firewall, and what does it control?

it controls the air ride suspension in the rear.

this is the level ride compressor.does the level ride come on the dash?it has a test wire right where the harness is.youll see a wire by the compressor not hooked to anything and maybe taped back. it has a green connector on it.turn the key on and ground that wire.the compresser will start running. we will start here.addReply to Question
