Sir i have an EE80 toyota Corolla 1986, and want to know about correct oil viscosity.

Sir i have an EE80 toyota Corolla 1986, weather conditions of my area are -2 degree Celcius to 40 Celsius, i used the engine oil with viscosity 20W-50 but now someone told me that use a thinner oil as it is better and moves faster between parts, so i now poured an engine oil with viscosity 10W-40 in it, is it OK ? kindly give your opinion.

The colder the temps the thinner oil you should use. Refer to your owner's manual to determine the best choice for your conditions.

actually my engine was rebuilt one month ago, installed new piston rings and head gasket. The engine was a little hard in starting, so i thought that using a little thin engine oil (10W-40) will be good. Please comment.
