What should i check? Heard possibly timing belt broken. ideas?

1986 Mazda 626 driving on highway-50 mph-just died. wouldn't start again. had to tow it home.

Do you have spark fuel pressure compression?

If its the timing belt-remove the distributor cap and crank engine over-is the rotor turning-if not the belt is gone or the distributor drive gear
