1986 Jaguar XJS Repair Question

Jaguar XJS Fuse Problem

Removed radio....left wires hanging from dash.....friend started car wires touched.....one melted.smoke etc no fire...switched off .Looks like power line[white]
Question is ; If removed fuse controling power from dash and used another live scource to radio and use on/off switch ..would that be okay.
Where does the damaged line go to...ignition???? Please Help

see how far back the wire is melted. if it goes into the wire harness, uncover the harness till the wire is good, cut at that point.

yes, run another wire from the fuse box that is fuse controlled.

be carefull who you let work on your car. could do damage to other modules from voltage surge.
