Hello,
I recently had the sway bar and clutch replaced on my Mustang LX. Everything was running smoothly, until I started hearing sporadic clunking noises that I believe are coming from the transmission. It sounds like two metal sticks hitting each other. The sound goes on for a little while and then goes away. It's not constant as it only happens from time to time and it occurs at different procedures. One time it happened while driving uphill. One time it happened while parking in reverse. Sometimes while driving in a straight line.

Is there an immediate risk?

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

You need to take back to where you had it done it doesnt sound good without looking the car over there no telling if there is something loose broken etc.

I appreciate your time taken to look over my problem. But I must say this is a very mediocre answer. I could've deduced that myself and is in fact what I plan to do (taking the car to the mechanic). I needed a better answer to make sure the mechanics wouldn't rip me off and I am now going in as clueless as I was.

I dont think I will be donating to this service again.

But, like I said, thank you for your time.

Iam sorry I didnt give you the answer you were looking for if you had done it yourself I would have had you go over all your own work. But since you paid all that money to have it done I figured why should you have to do that. For all I know something in the clutch area could have been miss installed or left loose. Which to find that you would have to remove the transmission to find.I didnt by any means try to take the easy way out to answer your question.I have questions that iam answering on here that are of ten pages long and still going. Were here to help maybe I miss understood your question? If you have the tools and want to go over all the work they just did then lets do it?Is that what you want do?Because iam not making any excuses here but all the work was done by someone else besides you so I cant ask you questions about the work. Also sorry but I assumed you didnt have the tools or knowledge to make the repairs since you paid someone else to make the repairs.I know what you do when assume. Also iam at a disadvantage here from that plus I cant see anything or look at anything. We are here help this is a good site that helps thousands of people each month from single moms house wives diyers even repair shops. So you tell me what you want to do?You want to go over all the work and have tools? If so lets start with sway bar. First grab each end and see you can feel any play in it.
