GMC Sierra Choke Problem

My truck has been in my family since new. The mileage is accurate. The engine runs like a top, but Im having trouble with the choke. I can pump the accelerater twice and it cranks immediately. However, even when I let it warm up, it boggs down and sometimes stops when I accelerate. Before I start messing with the choke, I wanted to ask for advice and direction.

Thanks

first check to see if choke works when cold, like closes then start up truck and see if it patiallyopens. then after warm see if choke blade is all the way open. if not then check for a vacuumleak or no hot air coming from exaust manifold. Then check to see about a carb rebuild, due to the alcohol in todays fuel it is probably needing one. At that timethere wasnt' much alcohol in fuel so accelerator pump may be bad.
