i have an 85 chevy k10 4x4 with a 305 and an automatic transmission. my transmission shifts very hard out of first and has high rpm on the highway. what should i do?

Check the fluid level and condition if okay bring it in and have it checked or you can try checking the TPS and VSS sensors-these sensors has to do with the transmission throttle and governor pressures.
