I have a mk1 ford fiesta 1984/86. I'm having issues with it starting. Ive pulled the spark plug, and its not sparking. There is also no spark at the points. Ive now replaced the iginition coil, but no change. Any idea's?

Do you have power at the positive terminal of the coil if so and contact point is properly gapped-check the cap and rotor

Thanks for the reply. Yes power is fine and the gap on poinrs is ok too, turning the engine over u can see them opening correctly. Just no spark. It all started when I left the car on tick over, when I returned it had stopped and wouldnt restart. Would it be anything to do with the ballest resistor wire connected to the coil? All seems very odd?
