How do I ajust engien idle speed

I removed the destributor to replace the pick up coil and now the truck idles very high one way when we turn it and all the way the other way it is still ideling high when the destibutor is turned all the way the other way

You may have removed or knocked off a vaccuum line. Check them.

The timing must be set with a timing light. The spec is about 5 degrees before top dead center plus or minus 3 degrees

Checked all hoses and have put light on it but the destibutor wont turn anymore to bring the idle speed down

Distributor wont bring the idle speed down. It is for timing.

If this did not have the issue before your repair, check the linkage on the carb for hanging up. I assume it is carb.
That may be the high idle issue. Set the timing at base isle, not the high idle.
