Volkswagen Rabbit Battery Problem
Two issues. May or maynot be related.
1). When shifting from 1 -3, car hesitates, once in 4th car runs strong with an occantional hesitation.
2). Recently had the intake boot replaced. Since then (5 months ago) car lights will flash on/off when car is cold, will loose power to radio, inside dome light will be dim. seat belt light will flash on/off. I will shut the door and the dom light is brighter and after some driving time all symptoms go away. Also on the left side driver side I hear a clicking noise while all this is going on again shifting from 1-3. Once I'm in 4th all symptoms go away until I start to down shift and return 1-3.
Any solutions with question 1 or questioins 2?
Thanks,

Check your battery connections (all power and ground wires)... sounds like something is moving due to the engine torquing under load, and causing intermittent loss of power to items.
CIS fuel injection is very sensitive... a momentary loss of power to the fuel pump relay will cause hesitation / bucking.
