What causes the electric fuel pump to overheat in slow moving traffic?
My 4WD GL Wagon runs fine except in stop and go slow moving traffic.
I have noticed that the fuel pump overheats and malfunctions during idle speeds. I've tried a damp cloth to cool it down (when it stops working)
and then it starts working. Is there any other way to solve the problem other than a new pump which will present the same problem?

The only way to finger the fuel pump is by using a fuel pressure tester it would show as sore thumb if its the culprit
