the front end starts to shimmy over 45 mph

Check tire balance, check alignment, check all steering components including ball joints, check to make sure the tires are in good condition and not chopped or have a shifted belt.

Just to help, it is the steering wheel you feel the shimmy in, the problem is related to the front. If you feel a vibration in the seat and floor, it's related to the rear tires.
