1979 Nissan 280Z Repair Question

Nissan 280Z Engine Problem
There is a slight ticking sound in the engine bay. i just changed the oil yesterday and it is still there i just bought the car about a month ago, is it hard to do an engine swap i wanted to put a sbc 350 in it to make it a drag racer

could be lifter noises.
yes, it is very involved and very expensive.
