1979 Chevrolet Cheyenne Repair Question

Chevrolet Cheyenne Choke Problem
I have 79 chevy pickup, 350 ci engine 4 barrel. if i leave it sit for a day or longer it wont strart unless i spray ether down the throat of carb. whats up with that

Check the choke adjustment and also the accelerator pump if its squirting fuel as you pull the throttle back-
