1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Repair Question

Speedometer and Odometer not working
I have a 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88, the speedometer and odometer stopped working at the same time. I've been told by numerous people its probably the cable inside, whats your take on the situation?

Being a car that old the first thing i would check is the speedometer cable its most likely broken.

Also check the drive gear on the back side where the cable hooks to the transmission for being broken worn out etc.
