1978 Chevrolet Truck Repair Question

Chevrolet Truck Engine Problem
Speedodometer needle does not register properly on 78 chevy pu truck. It does not return to zero. It starts at 90mph and returns to same when engine is off. I moved it back to zero with my finger and it worked ok for a very short time and is now back to 90. It registers from here and returns to 90 upon stopping. Does this mean I need another gauge?

that or that one fixed, you might try removing the needle and setting it at zero to swee what that does..if not there are speedo repair places around
