I have a 1978 Elcamino with a 1982 305 engine and trans. From a 1982 Elcamino. My problem is that there is what appears to be a cut cable located on the passenger side of the trans. Near the two trans. Cooling lines I bought the car/truck with the transplant already done so I dont know what this cable is or were it goes. PLEASE HELP.

You may have a thm400 trasn and it's the throttle cable that shold be hooked up to your throttle at the carb. It makes your transmission stay in gear longerwhen you areon the throttle heavy. It needs to be connected. Any trans shop canprobably fix itcorrectly for you.
