I am looking at a 77 F-250 it has the 390 in it. It cranks great when cold, however it want crank once it gets hot. After it cools down it cranks with no problems. I want to make sure I'm not buying a money pit. What could be causing the issue?

It's a 360 not a 390 they didn't come that way from factory. First check condition of battery including load test. Tire stores/autoparts do for free. Then check ground on engine block and body. Lastly have the starter checked for draw. Also it may be the relay on fenderwell.
