Hi, I install new pointa and the car runs very well for about 10 minutes. After that the rough idling starts and the point are red hot and burned. What can the reason be?

If the poiints are red hot then there is to much power going to the coil. If it's a 12 volt systems it should only have 9 volts while running and 12 volts on start cycle. Check to see if a resistor is bad or has been jumped. It may only supposed to be 6 volts as well. Chceck for a vacuum leak as well
