I do not have any gas going to the fuel pump

just purchased this truck the person who sold me the truck said they just cleaned the gas tank so I replaced the fuel filter and just today replaced the fuel pump and have to idea as to why I do not have any gas going to the pump or filter

has a 460 engine

Very often the pump can't draw a prime unless the engine is running. Try carefully pouring a little fuel down the carburetor, then run the engine at a high idle as long as possible. I have one car that will not start if I run it out of gas until I add a few gallons and pour some down the carb. five or six times.
