What volts should the coil read during cranking?

When I turn the key on the test light on the positive side of the coil lights up. When I crank the engine over the light goes off. It seems to me when I let off the key it will then fire. Can you help me in the right direction.

Replace the ballast resistor on the firewall. That sounds like your problem.

Well I forgot to mention that I did replace the resitor on the wall and also the module box. It wouldn't even fire before that.
