Pontiac Grand Prix Choke Problem

The car is very hard to start when cold, if it starts at all. Cranks and acts like it wants to fire but won't. The choke is going closed like it should, and I've tried every accelerator combination I can think of (pumping a couple times, put it to the floor once then release, pump several times). Even tried starting fluid but still won't fire. The other day when I did manage to get it started, it acted like it had been flooded, then started fine the rest of the day. 400 4V w/rebuilt Quadrajet

make sure the points are gapped correctly at .018.

the choke may still be the issue. the carb bowl plugs may also be leaking down overnight giving a no fuel condition till the fuel pump fills up the carb again
