1967 Ford Mustang Fixed Leaks On Power Steering Turn Steering Wheel About Half

I fixed the leaks on my power steering, but when I turn the steering wheel about half a turn to the left or right the steering wheel turns all the way to the left by itself real fast an with a lot of power. Thinking I may have crossed the hoses on the value box to the power cylinder I switch them, but now I turn the wheel about half a turn left or right and the steering wheel jumps back and forth real fast. Which way is right and how do I stop it from jumping or turning.
